Colonial Gardens Bed & Breakfast receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, primarily due to the exceptional hospitality of its owner, Angela. Guests consistently praise her attentiveness, warmth, and the delicious, personalized breakfasts. The property itself is charming and well-maintained, offering a peaceful retreat near Williamsburg's attractions.
Angela has gone ABOVE and BEYOND making our time here special! We are so grateful to have found her here! Our elopement here was made so special and had so many touches filled with love. Our florals, table settings, and altar were so detailed and beautiful. Angela truly has an eye for detail and decoration. The breakfast was phenomenal. From the food to the table setting, we felt so comfortable and relaxed. Angela even prepared our food specially, asking us how we liked our eggs cooked and if we wanted more servings of anything. Our room was absolutely divine. We stayed in the Rhododendron Suite. There are colonial accents, but overall, an open, airy elegant atmosphere. The bed was outstanding, by far the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. We loved all of the bedding and pillows. Our bathroom was spacious, spotless, and the shower was marvelous! Angela truly is an absolute gem. From helping me corset my wedding gown, to making our elopement day extra special. She is so kind, communicative, and such a warm person. We look forward to returning to this B&B very soon. From tea parties, to bridal or baby showers, you are in the BEST hands with Angela.
Wow! Angela and her entire staff at Colonial Gardens was amazing from start to finish for my daughter's elopement! Every detail was perfect! We couldn't have asked for a nicer host, she went above and beyond. We look forward to our future visits to Williamsburg and staying at Colonial Gardens.
We loved that this is a smaller B&B, close enough to the historic district to be convenient, yet just far enough away from the crowds to have easy access to the main roads and New Town. Our hostess was charming, accommodating, and a great cook - breakfasts were yummy and generous. The home, furnishings, and grounds are lovely. We highly recommend Colonial Gardens!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Colonial Gardens Bed and Breakfast for four nights, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. Angela, the host, was exceptionally knowledgeable, welcoming, and thoughtful. We opted for the daily breakfast, which she personally cooked for us each morning, and it was worth every penny. Each meal felt like waking up to our own private diner downstairs. Everything was freshly prepared, delicious, and different each day, saving us the hassle of going out and waiting in lines. Angela also shared the fascinating history of the house, some of her family stories, and lots of great tips about local attractions and restaurants. She made a genuine effort to learn about our plans each day so she could offer advice to make the most of our visit. Her warmth and hospitality truly made it feel like we were visiting family. We stayed in the Azalea Suite and our room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. Even though we spent most of our time exploring, it was always a treat to come back to a well-made bed, fresh towels, and clean drinking water thanks to the excellent housekeeping staff. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Colonial Gardens is more than just a place to sleep. It’s an experience that blends comfort, local charm, and heartfelt hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Williamsburg.
Stayed in the Library room, it is the smallest of the rooms, but was perfect for an anniversary stay. Stayed for 2 nights slept great. Location is perfect to get to lots of sight seeing places. The road is not noise. The breakfast was different each day and was very yummy. Hostess was super friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone wanting a cute getaway stay.
10/10 EXCEPTIONAL!??What a beautiful and delightful experience it was staying at the Colonial Gardens! My husband and I were looking for a little getaway in VA and staying at this wonderful B and B was absolutely perfect. Our host Angela was an absolute delight, incredibly hospitable, caring and meticulously endeavors to deliver an exceptional experience. We stayed in the Rohdedron room and it was very pleasant, clean, elegant (the vanity was stunning!) and all around very comfortable. Highlight?????????? DO NOT SKIP OUT ON THE BREAKFAST AND THE “TEA FOR 2” EXPERIENCE! Breakfast was superb, fresh baked pastries along with a hot and savory plate with a beautiful garden side view? Cannot fault it! Then the Tea experience was perfection! As a British person I was so excited to see this experience available as an option while booking my stay and did Angela deliver! All freshly made and amazingly tasting pastries, deserts and finger sandwiches, the teas served were wonderful! This place is ideal to stay for both families and couples, with stunning gardens, delicious food, relaxing rooms and a fantastic host, we would certainly love to stay here again upon our next visit to Williamsburg!
Angela and her staff made our stay in Williamsburg magical! Everything was clean, organized, and very responsive when we needed help or had any questions. We will stay here every time we come and visit Williamsburg.
I attended a high tea baby shower with my daughter at Colonial Gardens and it was an absolute delight! Angela created a welcoming space for the mom-to-be and all of her guests, really making it feel homey and joyful. The food was delicious and I loved trying a variety of teas. The sun room was the ideal place to be surrounded by the beauty of nature. I am eager to host an event of my own there in the future because I know it will be an opportunity to create beautiful memories while leaving the details to in Angela’s capable hands.
Colonial Gardens is a charming haven in the historic town of Williamsburg, Virginia. While it’s very close to the heart of all of the best things to do in town, it is a quiet oasis to retreat to. For locals, the innkeeper creates multiple opportunities to enjoy the home by offering high teas, literary events, baby showers, bridal showers, and more. My wife and daughters have attended local events and raved about the hospitality, delicious food, and warmth of the experience.
I visited Colonial Gardens back in June 2025, and had a lovely time. The common areas were really pleasant, the breakfast service was delicious, and the staff was extremely kind and helpful. We found our bedroom to be absolutely comfortable and lovely. This is a well priced and well regarded Bed and Breakfast. if you are coming to Williamsburg for Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, or William and Mary, you are extremely well placed. We cannot more highly recommend.
