I prefer B&Bs when traveling especially in historic places. My wife and I brought our kids here for an experience to walk and stay where our founding fathers had. Hornsby House Inn is as described and more. Clean is huge for me and it delivered. Feeling like an honored guest and told to treat the house like your own, so we did. My boys climbed some trees and ran in the yard. So much fun here not counting the perfect location of quaint and quiet but close enough to the riverfront. The house is full of history and I found value in the pictures, books, and code of conduct from a mother to her sons posted outside the kitchen. Lexi & Tom took great care and were hardly seen but the service was impactful. I highly recommend Hornsby House for a weekend away or a historic visit.

This was our second stay here at this lovely place. Tom and Lexi are wonderful hosts! It is walking distance to Yorktown historical areas, shops, and restaurants. Breakfasts in the dining room are delicious too! Can’t wait to return!

Having the Hornsby House as our wedding venue was the best experience we could have asked for. All of our families staying together in one house, having warm home cooked meals together, and getting to celebrate our day was something truly unforgettable. I've told my wife many times now that if I had to be trapped in a Groundhog Day situation, it would be our wedding day at the Hornsby House. Tom and Lexi are such wonderful and compassionate people to work with, who really want to make sure your stay at the house feels like home. Special shoutout to Lexi who really went the extra mile to make sure everyone was cared for to the maximum degree. If you're looking to just stay a night, a weekend, or to even have your wedding here like we did, the Hornsby House is the place to do it. Would give more than 5 stars if possible

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend getaway to Yorktown and the Hornsby House Inn. The Inn provided a very comfortable and home-away-from-home base for our exploration of the area. It is ideally situated on the main village street, but on the end across from the beautiful liberty statue. The rooms were cozy, clean and inviting; the inn is the family home of the Hornsbys and there are many photos and mementos from the most recent family to live in the spacious home. We even had a guest appearance and history lesson from one of the family who lives nearby and oversees the management of the inn! It was an unexpected delight to hear stories from his youth in the home and village. The staff are courteous, friendly and go out of their way to make you feel at home. We will go back!

What a beautiful and lovely place to stay. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a warm smile and fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. Lexi was incredibly accommodating. Wine and cheese hour was a perfect touch. My girls were allowed to play the piano while I relaxed by the fireplace. I don't think we could have found a better place to stay in Yorktown or the surrounding area. It is perfectly located and allows for easy excursions on foot or in car. I could not recommend this place enough. We were beyond blessed to be able to stay here!

We had a great stay at the Hornsby House Inn. It is a great location for exploring Yorktown, Williamsburg, and other places on the peninsula. The house itself is beautiful, a real mansion from the early 1930s. They serve delicious breakfasts and have a well -stocked bar. Our room was very comfortable. Tom and Lexi were great hosts; very friendly and helpful.

We spent 2 nights in very cold weather. We were warm, comfortable and well cared for at HHI. Tom was an excellent communicator and chef. He answered all our questions and prepared delicious breakfasts. Our room had a beautiful view of the monument and river. The bed and linens were comfortable. We enjoyed complimentary coffee & cookies throughout the weekend. One morning we sat the in the living room having coffee by the fire before our breakfast, and then later that evening hosted other friends in the sunroom to watch ACC basketball - just like home. The best part of our stay was meeting and enjoying the company of the other guests during breakfast and hearing from Mr. David Bowditch who grew up there. It is clear that this former family home still resonates with love and care. I honestly did not want to leave. We travel to area often and will be staying again.

We were welcomed and invited to have some of the food left at a party that was just ending. Breakfast was great, with David Bowditch joining the guests to provide some history of the Inn and the family running it. Interesting memorabilia all around the place. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Plenty of parking. We will be back.

Weekend get-away with hubby and this place is FABULOUS... the INN is absolutely stunning. We really enjoyed talking with Tom about the house and area, he is very knowledgeable. Breakfast is sooooooo delicious, you're really treated like a top-notch guest. I have always said I would never stay at a bed and breakfast, but I have to admit, this really was nice and I'm so glad we did.

?????????? My sister was married at the Hornsby House Inn, and it was truly the most wonderful, underrated wedding venue. From start to finish, the experience exceeded all of our expectations. Tom was absolutely excellent and went above and beyond to help us throughout the entire weekend. The entire staff was incredibly kind, helpful, and understanding especially when we ran into a few hiccups. They handled everything with such professionalism and genuine care, which made the weekend feel stress-free and special. Our family rented the entire bed and breakfast for the weekend, and it was perfect. The rooms were clean, cozy, and comfortable, and everyone slept so well. It felt like a true home away from home. And the breakfast, 10/10! So delicious and such a highlight each morning. We had the best time celebrating together, and I cannot recommend the Hornsby House Inn enough for weddings or special events. It’s a truly special place with an amazing team behind it.
