This property includes spacious, kitchen-equipped rooms suitable for extended stays, but reviews are heavily marred by severe cleanliness issues, lack of proper maintenance, and attempts to charge for rooms with broken amenities or no power.
The kitchen is pretty much useless. My room had one frying pan, a serving spoon, 2 forks, and several butter knives. The room is clean and spacious, but I feel kind of ripped off considering I could have saved money on a regular room and ordered out. Now I have to order out anyway bc it's cheaper than buying a cook set for four days. Also the indoor pool is closed for renovations, which I was never notified of until I asked at check in.
DO NOT STAY HERE! The photos are extremely misleading. The rooms are run down, dirty, and smell like old cigarette smoke. The stove didn’t work, the carpets were wet and spelled like dog pee. The furniture is beat to death and clearly never taken care of. Phones didn’t work, smoke detectors didn’t work, I’m not sure they even have a license to run!!! On our way out of there, there was a pile of fresh dog crap at the door and a passed out drug addict in her running car (the usual heroine zombie slump). The cops pulled up as we left. This is not a safe hotel. It is the projects of Williamsburg. Stay away!!!!!!
I will start with the good things,. It was a quiet area and I felt safe. The bed was comfy. The staff was very polite and friendly and they upgraded me to a bigger room to get me in early since I was traveling alone. However: The room was so dirt!!! Bad smell in the hall and when I opened my door, a mix of smoke and dog odor. I walked across the carpet with white socks just to go to the bathroom and back to the bed and my socks were black, I could feel them sticking to the carpet. There was paint chips that had been scrapped off the door frame in the bathroom behind the door on the floor. The shelves under the sink looked like they had not been cleaned in a long time, just dusted off but not actually clean. Plugs on the lamp didn't work, the wall plug was falling out of the hole. TV didn't work. The hallway had trash all up and down and it was there from the time I arrive to the time I left. I tried to upload pictures in several different sizes files and formats and it just kept giving a error. Believe me when I say it was very nasty! If it hadn't been so late and I wasn't alone I would not have stayed. I am not a very picky person about my hotels, but the filth of the carpet alone was enough for me to post this!!! On Booking it only posted my good comment so I wanted to make sure everyone knew what I really found here.
Our room was dirty. There was hair in the shower, the towels were dusty and the hallway of the floor our room was on smelled really bad. The bathtub didn't drain so we had to use another room on another floor to take a shower the last night we stayed there. The microwave oven door was broken. There was no basket in the coffee maker so we had to go downstairs to get coffee in the morning. One positive is the staff was very nice. Oh, and there is plenty of parking. When we checked out, there was a note on the desk saying that the clerk was away she helping another guest. We waited for about 5 minutes and left our keys and a note on the desk telling them we had left.
We booked this hotel specifically because it was advertised as having an indoor pool. I asked the front desk about the pool and was informed that it has been closed since Covid. That was 5 years ago and they don’t plan on opening it again. Again they are advertising as having an indoor pool but most definitely does not. Very disappointed, we could have chose something else had we known this.
I'm not one to leave reviews especially bad ones but this is one that needs to be shared. The only thing good about this hotel is the location everything else was very unpleasant, upon arrival and check in ( our 1st room ) we noticed the bed linen was stained so we called the front desk and they sent housekeeping to switch the bed linen with more stained linen, after telling the manager about this they then switched us to another room witch was just as bad if not worse, the toilet seat was broken, the sink clogged up, T.V. not working walls was filthy as well as the carpet. The whole place had an awful odor and all the staff could say was you have to wait until morning to talk to a manager, the indoor pool is just a storage facility I guess cause there was no water and full of old furniture, I have been trying to reach the general manager now for 3days after phone calls and emails I have yet to be contacted back. This is a very unpleasant ( to say the least ) hotel. As I said before I don't normally leave reviews but I feel people now days work hard for there money and maybe I can save someone from waisting there money here.
We did not stay at this hotel, but we had a vehicle emergency & we were treated with such kindness & compassion by the lady at the front desk between the hours of 930 & 10 pm on Sunday, July 27th! PLEASE recognize this employee! She deserves it. Unfortunately we did not get her name, but we want to thank her for her warmth during our vehicle troubles.
We stayed here over July 4th weekend, and it was under $300 for two nights. Not bad. The staff was nice. The room was okay. We got a room with windows leading into the GIANT pool room, that is no longer in use. Which was kinda nice, because no sun in the morning. We had a large kitchen, that we didn't use besides the very loud fridge. Hotel is supposed to be smoke free, but hallway always smelled like marijuana. The room did not though. The hotel is less than half a mile from Colonial Williamsburg, and can be walked to. Overall positive experience for the price, especially on July 4th weekend with little notice.
I hope you check your fridge when you move into the room. Made the mistake of assuming it was fine, got food poisoning from eating my own spoiled food. The employees tried to leave a note for the owner to exchange the fridge, which he left untouched saying “he though it had already been taken care of because the note was highlighted”, as if anyone marks a task done by HIGHLIGHTING it. As soon as the employees found out he hadn’t fixed it, they immediately exchanged the fridge on their own time. The owner supposedly agreed to refund me for the rest of the food. It was a lot of food, as it was a full size fridge with a kitchen, and I have to stay for stretches that can extend MONTHS for work. All of which I can provide receipts for and pull market prices. After checking out, I tried multiple times to contact this man to please follow through with the refund he offered, it’s not like I got any discounts on my bill. After getting sick, throwing away $50 of all the perishable food, still going to work every day, and dealing with my dog going through urgent care and taking her to work with me. I also needed the receipt for my stay to submit to my employer. Glad I found a place on the app that offered an itemized receipt, because Suraj is not capable of professionally managing ANYTHING including a simple request to just fix something so his guests don’t continue to be violently ill due to his own negligence. The only good thing about this place are the other employees. It seems like they’re the only reason the entire place is even close to functional. They are the ones that helped me get a working fridge, they are the ones that tried to get me a refund, they are the ones that are always very nice and pleasant. Hope this helps.
The only reason I’d give this hotel 2 stars is because of how friendly the front desk staff is and how convenient the location is. I like that there is a pancake house right next door. Aside from that, the hotel pretty much sucks. There is a weird smell throughout the whole hotel, and my floor smelled like nothing but cigarette smoke despite it being a non smoking hotel. The room had a weird smell as well. The fan in the bathroom did not work, there was hella water damage on the walls, and the MICROWAVE DID NOT WORK!!! We didn’t even have a trash can in our room besides the small one in the bathroom. My siblings stayed in another room, and one of their beds had pee stains on the blankets. There was also a dead roach in the corner of the room. You can tell that the rooms have never been deep cleaned. The pool is not open, and there is no fitness center. Overall, you get what you pay for so I can’t be terribly upset but I will not be staying here again.
