Located on Bypass Road, Days Inn by Wyndham Williamsburg Historic Area offers comfortable accommodations close to Williamsburg’s historic landmarks. This convenient location is ideal for families, groups, and travelers exploring the area.
This Days Inn offers budget-friendly accommodations that consistently fail to meet basic hygiene and maintenance standards, with reports of hoarding, roaches, and inconsistent staff service.
Awful place. No refrigerators in smoking rooms. There was no phone in our room. Dingy. The toilet is kids sized. So low to the ground. Said they would bring a refrigerator in the morning, it never showed. Smoke detector hanging from wall. NEVER AGAIN!!!
Room shown online looked nice. Room we got was probably great in 1974 when it was last renovated. Outlets are worn out and you can't charge phones or run a CPAP. Someone's pube was stuck to a supposedly clean towel. Someone's partially eaten candy was on the floor. There's a gross stain on the sofa. TV only shows static. You have to jiggle the toilet handle to make the tank fill properly- otherwise it will run nonstop. Wasn't expecting luxury at this price, but clean and functional is sort of a bare minimum a hotel is supposed to provide. This was our last stay at a Days Inn. Its not a bargain if your skin crawls when you're in the room....
The staff could not be more rude. Did online check in that was pointless, because the exact same things had to be done in person. And they charged my card for the online check in and again at the regular check in, and would not reverse the charges. Also, the original room they gave me was currently occupied by another guests, so I got the pleasure of dealing with the rude staff even more than anyone should have to deal with someone in this place. Do not stay here if you do not have to. I've stayed a lot of places, and this was by far one of my worst experiences. Oh, and they advertised a microwave and there is not one in the room.
Stayed here because they had smoking rooms. Arrived at 9:30 pm and told room had been given out and no smoking rooms left. Finally got heat in the third room, then had to go back to front desk to get toilet paper, the holder didn't even have the empty roll on it. Come back to the room, television doesn't work. Then I look down to see they have proudly left me someone's leftover shampoo.
The only positives were that it was inexpensive and we had a place to sleep. The room felt unclean, with black stains on the pillows, mold on the bathroom door frame, and outdated heating lamps in the bathroom. Even after showering, it still felt unpleasant. The hallways smelled strongly of smoke, and both the indoor pool and hot tub were in poor condition. Breakfast was very limited, offering only a few Danishes, bread, and cereal. I know that may sound picky, but when a hotel advertises breakfast, I expect at least some hot options or boiled eggs. Overall, the hotel is in serious need of renovation, and the owners do not appear to care. I would not recommend staying here unless it is truly your only option.
We stayed here many times and it’s unreal how bad it’s gotten. Cracked and drafty window sills. The heater was incredibly loud and made sleep near impossible. Bed coverings are super thin so when you have to turn off the heater to sleep, you froze. The bathroom ceiling had a dripping noise in it from a water leak on the third floor and we would get terrible headaches from being in the bathroom. The fire route instructions were missing so I thought that was a legal concern as well. The breakfast was a joke at best. When we stayed in the early fall, everything was stocked and it was an inviting experience. This time was warm milk for cereal, stale bagels and bread, bruised apples and Walmart danishes. That’s all. Used to be yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cold milk, bananas, muffins and hot chocolate. Not this time. The attendant spent the entire time on FaceTime with someone and wasn’t doing her job in the least bit and seemed to get aggravated when you picked up an item. But there was a tip jar? The pool and hot tub were algae ridden apparently and left us with red, itchy skin that took a full day to go away. We have stayed at multiple hotels in the area trying to find our “go to” place for our trips to Busch gardens and this one was looking promising but it became an unacceptable disappointment. I reached out to hotel management and never got a response so it clear their sub par and unhygienic place is exactly how they want it.
Great rates, decent furniture although bed a little soft, nice shower. Breakfast was simple. Only issues I had in my end unit was wi-fi barely reached and door would not lock shut easily. Better than older motels in town i have used for about the same price. I'll be back
This place is absolutely disgusting ?. I would have given zero stars if not for the woman at the counter being fairly friendly. I have posted pictures that probably don't do the filth justice. This place is more like a twenty dollar an hour hotel or maybe even a twenty dollar for the night. Not expensiveObviously and not a top tier hotel, but where do you draw the line?I'm amazed that these places can stay open. Bathroom ceiling looked like my 5-year-old Did this spackle, no soap of any form, no shampoo. The carpet was disgusting didn't look like it's been vacuumed in a very long time.I found two old cigars on the floor the room smelled like somebody just smoked a big blunt. The chair and other things, as you can see, are very dirty.Someone does not have very high aspirations. That's for sure.. That being said, I'll definitely not stay here again. And I'll pass the word to anyone.I know.
Drove straight through 8 hours, booked from 26 to the 27 thru 3rd party. Arrived at 1:00 a.m. on the 27th, told us they did not have our information because she deleted it during an "audit" because there was no payment on file (you have to literally use a card to book online), then said we'd have to book again and there'd be a $50 early check in fee. So, $100+ for a $55 room. Rude. Uncaring. Unhelpful. Uninterested. GO TO THE HOLIDAY INN ACROSS THE STREET. Edit: I'm convinced my stay wasn't meant to be, especially after reading the negative reviews. Some schmuck gave a key to his buddy to get into someone's room. Days Inn needs to go out of business.
? Disappointing Stay: Poor Cleanliness, Outdated Rooms, and Unresponsive Staff This was a deeply unsatisfactory stay, characterized by significant issues with cleanliness, room maintenance, and customer service. ? Cleanliness and Maintenance The condition of the room was unacceptable, appearing neglected and outdated: Poor Sanitation: The toilet was unclean upon arrival (containing hair). Dirty Furnishings: The rug and sofa were heavily stained. Coffee Maker: The coffee maker was unsanitary, missing its lid, and had caked-on dust in the water container. Lack of Amenities: The room lacked a blanket on the bed and an essential second trash can in the bathroom. Bathroom Issues: The shower system was in poor working condition. Security Concern: A significant security oversight was found: the connecting door between our room and the adjacent one was left unlocked and unbolted. ?? Staff Interaction & Service Staff professionalism and engagement were consistently poor throughout the stay: Lack of Customer Service: Staff members failed to greet guests upon arrival and did not thank us or acknowledge our departure. Unresponsive Breakfast Service: The staff appeared "checked out" and were preoccupied (e.g., on their phones in an adjacent room). We had to locate and bring out the serving bowls ourselves. There was a noticeable lack of attention to replenishing items like plates and bagels, which were in low supply. ?? Breakfast The breakfast offered was minimal and poorly presented: Limited, Low-Quality Selection: The options were limited to cereal, a bagel, and the milk and cream cheese were served at room temperature (warm). Note: Apples are reportedly only available on Sundays. Overall, the facility and the service reflect a significant lack of care. I would strongly recommend finding alternative accommodations.
