Days Inn by Wyndham Williamsburg Historic Area consistently receives negative feedback regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and overall condition. Multiple reviews describe unsanitary rooms with issues ranging from mold and stains to pests and broken amenities. Staff responsiveness is also a concern, with reports of unhelpful service and issues with room assignments and refunds.

This hotel is crap. The photos do not give a real picture of the location and status of it. First the outside pool is drained and not usable, hotel looks decent, needs an inside overhaul. The second pool is inside atthe end of the walk, not very clean looking. Breakfast was almost non existing, few muffins, bagels, boiled eggs, cereal, milk, yogarts and Danish. Some coffee, and juice bar dispenser. Beds and room was clean although toilet is not seated properly and moves when you sit on it. No refrigerator in rooms. We couldn't use the shower as the faucet wouldn't turn properly, it would just go around and around. They finally came and fixed it. Very disappointing. My opinion get rid of whoever is in charge of upkeep and revamp the hotel. Last minute stay, so it is what it is. Definitely will not come back here and will inform people of this place is not at all how they portray it.

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent stay at your Days Inn by Wyndham property. The condition of the hotel, lack of cleanliness, poor maintenance, and apparent disregard for guest safety made this one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Upon arrival, I completed the pre-check-in process. However, no one ever verified my identification before handing over room keys, which immediately raised concerns about security. When we entered our first room, the television did not work, there were hairs in the sink and on the bathroom floor, and the fitted sheet had been put on inside out. The room felt unclean and poorly maintained. After reporting these issues, we were moved to a neighboring room. Unfortunately, the second room appeared not to have been properly cleaned either. There were additional hairs throughout the room, visible piles of dirt on the floor, and a broken table. As we explored the property, we discovered that the outdoor pool, which was advertised as an amenity, was completely drained and out of service. This information was not disclosed before booking. The overall condition of the property also raised serious safety concerns. I observed no visible security cameras, stairwell access did not require a key card, and one of the elevators was out of service. In addition, there appeared to be only one luggage cart available for the entire facility, making it difficult for guests to transport their belongings. The complimentary breakfast was equally disappointing. The selection was extremely limited, consisting primarily of hard-boiled eggs, toast, and cereal. Milk was stored in an unlabeled container in a refrigerator, which raised concerns about food handling and freshness. Most alarming was an incident during our second night. We were awakened by loud noises coming from a nearby room that sounded either like gunshots or someone attempting to kick down a door. Regardless of the exact cause, the disturbance was frightening and left me feeling unsafe for the remainder of our stay. Overall, this experience fell far below the standards I would expect from a Wyndham-branded property. Between the cleanliness issues, lack of maintenance, misleading amenities, security concerns, and frightening disturbance, I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone. I respectfully request that this complaint be reviewed and that appropriate action be taken regarding the condition and management of this property.

The rooms were Absolutely disgustingly filthy. That’s me putting it Nicely. They are not maintained. AC does not work. Staff prefers to sit there on their phones rather than help you. There is No Breakfast staff too lazy to keep it stocked. Grounds Dirty. I have No Clue how this place can pass any Fire or Health inspection. The rooms Smoke Detectors hanging off wall or missing. Could not take a Shower. Had to Fix TV myself. If it was so late and I wasn’t so Exhausted I would had left. Why Wyndham has there name on this Days Inn unless it’s the type of Business they do. Days Inn you should absolutely be ashamed and Shutdown. Chair in Room Stains and Rips. Nightstand missing drawer. A thickness of dirt along all the walls like no one vacuums. I Absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone for your own Health and Safety.

Stayed here for the first time for Memorial Day Weekend. Upon checking in, the keys didn't work for room 132. Later that night we found out the we were supposed to be in 134 not 132, that's why the keys didn't work.Went back to the front desk, my husband wanted a room on the inside so instead of giving us keys that would open 132 the lady at the front put us in room 227. The room smelled like mildew, there was a big gap at the bottom of the door and the floor was vacuumed so we asked for room 132. She gave us the keys, we put our belongings in the room and went to get something to eat. When we came back we thoroughly checked the room and the carpet wasn't vacuumed, dusty and brown stains on the sheets. My husband went to the front desk and brought the attendant to the room so she could see for herself. She then put us in room 136. When we walked in someone's socks were laying by the desk. She just said sorry about that and kicked the socks outside. This room was a little dirty with more socks under the bed, the top of the toilet was dirty and the smoke detector was dangling from the wall. The next morning I went to speak to the manager and told her about the 3 rooms we were put in and how housekeeping isn't doing a good job. She then showed me a room that was inside, room 109. They room smelled clean, like bleach. Had a working smoke detector and a microwave and fridge. The other rooms we were on didn't have that and she said not all rooms have microwaves and refrigerators. The bathroom was clean but there was a straight razor laying on the sink. Not sure how the cleaning lady missed that. The manager did give me a discount for my first night stay but I will never stay at this hotel again.

Our room wasnt as horrific as some of the other reviews. Smoking rooms have no refridgerator, only the ice machine on the 3rd floor had ice. Water took 20mins to get hot. Close to busch gardens but defenitly a roach coach. Cheap is about the only thing thats right. Was promised a fridge that never showed up. Toilet felt like a kids toy toilet. Knees at your chin sitting on it. Tv channels seemed very limited. Thankfully never went close enough to the pool.

Awful place. No refrigerators in smoking rooms. There was no phone in our room. Dingy. The toilet is kids sized. So low to the ground. Said they would bring a refrigerator in the morning, it never showed. Smoke detector hanging from wall. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Room shown online looked nice. Room we got was probably great in 1974 when it was last renovated. Outlets are worn out and you can't charge phones or run a CPAP. Someone's pube was stuck to a supposedly clean towel. Someone's partially eaten candy was on the floor. There's a gross stain on the sofa. TV only shows static. You have to jiggle the toilet handle to make the tank fill properly- otherwise it will run nonstop. Wasn't expecting luxury at this price, but clean and functional is sort of a bare minimum a hotel is supposed to provide. This was our last stay at a Days Inn. Its not a bargain if your skin crawls when you're in the room....

The staff could not be more rude. Did online check in that was pointless, because the exact same things had to be done in person. And they charged my card for the online check in and again at the regular check in, and would not reverse the charges. Also, the original room they gave me was currently occupied by another guests, so I got the pleasure of dealing with the rude staff even more than anyone should have to deal with someone in this place. Do not stay here if you do not have to. I've stayed a lot of places, and this was by far one of my worst experiences. Oh, and they advertised a microwave and there is not one in the room.

Stayed here because they had smoking rooms. Arrived at 9:30 pm and told room had been given out and no smoking rooms left. Finally got heat in the third room, then had to go back to front desk to get toilet paper, the holder didn't even have the empty roll on it. Come back to the room, television doesn't work. Then I look down to see they have proudly left me someone's leftover shampoo.

The only positives were that it was inexpensive and we had a place to sleep. The room felt unclean, with black stains on the pillows, mold on the bathroom door frame, and outdated heating lamps in the bathroom. Even after showering, it still felt unpleasant. The hallways smelled strongly of smoke, and both the indoor pool and hot tub were in poor condition. Breakfast was very limited, offering only a few Danishes, bread, and cereal. I know that may sound picky, but when a hotel advertises breakfast, I expect at least some hot options or boiled eggs. Overall, the hotel is in serious need of renovation, and the owners do not appear to care. I would not recommend staying here unless it is truly your only option.
