Marl Inn Bed and Breakfast receives overwhelmingly positive reviews, consistently praised for its excellent location, cleanliness, and gracious hosts. Guests highlight the charming atmosphere, delicious home-cooked breakfasts, and convenient access to Yorktown’s historic sites and attractions. It’s a perfect base for exploring the area and enjoying a peaceful getaway.
The location is great! It’s an easy & enjoyable walk to the Riverwalk path, shops, & restaurants. There is also a cute coffee shop even closer called Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters & Petite Cafe. The rooms are extremely clean & the breakfast was a very nice treat. The town is very quaint & some houses have cannonballs from the Revolutionary War embedded in the brick. We really enjoyed our stay & it was a nice home base while visiting Colonial Williamsburg.
Stayed at Marl Inn in Yorktown and had a great experience. Amy was incredibly hospitable and friendly—she made us feel welcome right away. The location is perfect: just a quick walk to the beach and about 3 minutes to the courthouse. Super convenient and comfortable stay. If we’re back in the area, we’ll definitely be staying here again. — Michael & Kelly
First time stay at a bed and breakfast and it was wonderful. Hostess was phenomenal and made our 20 year wedding anniversary stay-cation perfect. Comfortable and quiet; breakfast was amazing. Husband loved the baked apples! Everything we needed for a little get away. Would recommend and cannot wait to go back.
We stayed at this beautiful bed and breakfast in early December during our first ever visit to Yorktown and the surrounding area. The place was all decorated for Christmas and I could tell even with a light coat of snow that the gardens and grounds must be especially beautiful during the spring and summer. We stayed in the Garden View suite, the only room on the ground floor with a full kitchen and a king-size bed. It was comfortable and peaceful and had great views of the grounds. The inn is in a great location to walk to many of the historic buildings and down hill to downtown Yorktown. Paul and Amy are so friendly and so eager to make your stay perfect. We opted for the full breakfast which was delicious and bountiful and served by our hosts in a beautiful setting. It was lovely to sit with the other guests and Paul and Amy and enjoy the food, the atmosphere, and the company. We would highly recommend this wonderful place to anyone who is visiting the area.
WOW !!! If you are ever in or close to YORKTOWN, This is the place to stay… Excellent rates, phenomenal host, best location in all of Yorktown. The suites are awesome fully stocked (even snacks and bottled water) dishes, linens, coffee maker (and coffee). We couldn’t have asked for better. It was truly perfect. Paul and Amy were so wonderful and accommodating, the Breakfast that they made for us was completely homemade and better than any restaurant. I will definitely be staying with them again.
My husband and I recently stayed at Marl Inn for two nights. We stayed in the Garden View Suite and everything about our stay was wonderful. The suite (featured on the home page photo array) was spacious and comfortable. It includes a large bathroom, kitchen and dining table, king bed and comfortable living room area. Loved the French doors going out to the patio where I sat with coffee and admired the beautiful gardens. We opted for a full breakfast each morning and truly, it was like sitting down to a delicious breakfast with friends. Paul and Amy are most gracious hosts and we felt quite at home. It's a short walk down to the beach along the York River and local restaurants and shops, as well as a quick drive to the Yorktown battle site. We highly recommend the Marl Inn.
A wonderful B&B in the middle of Yorktown. Really a quaint place that makes you feel like you're a part of the community. Everthing at Yorktown is walkable from the Marl Inn, or you can hop on the shuttle down the road. Amy and Paul were outstanding hosts and our suite (The Yorktown) was spacious and impeccably clean. And the grounds are incredibly beautiful. You can tell they put a lot of effort into being making the most of visitor's stays. One VERY nice feature is that the breakfast is optional. We just wanted to sit on our deck and drink coffee in the morning and look over the grounds. What a peaceful way to start and end the day. In all, wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back. Thanks to Amy and Paul for their hospitality.
The 4 of us were in Yorktown for an Army retirement ceremony. We had the Garden View and Yorktown suites for 2 nights. Exceptionally clean rooms with king beds, kitchens, and baths. Amy and Paul accommodated us with an earlier breakfast - table set with red, white, and blue dishes - so we could get to the base for our event. The inn is located a short walk to the waterfront. The breakfasts were outstanding - the first day was an omelette, fresh fruit, sausage links, hash browns, and English muffins. The second was French toast, bacon, and fresh fruit. Coffee, juice, and homemade jams completed each meal. The hosts gave helpful and knowledgeable tour suggestions and directions. Plus interesting conversation each morning. Great stay which I highly recommend.
We recently had the pleasure to visit Marl Inn for our wedding anniversary. Everything was just lovely. Rooms were clean, and the kitchen well stocked. The hosts were so friendly and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast over wonderful conversation. We look forward to visiting again soon!
So much info to share that I’m going to put it in sections. Room- Pictures didn’t do it justice. It’s cleanly, beautiful, spacious, private and secure. The garden view and snacks/water were a nice plus. Grounds- Quiet and serene historic garden beauty that you can enjoy. We even sat with deer right next to the fenced grounds. Snicker the cat may be seen on the grounds. She keeps to herself, but will happily accept attention from cat loving travelers. Location- so much within walking distance! Historical sites (including two museums). Coffee and confectionery shops halfway down the street. The end of the street is The York River! Which has a beach, dining, a farmers market, and Riverwalk landing, which offers even more! If you don’t want to walk or drive to these places the trolley hits all its stops within 10-15 minutes. If you need things such as grocery, pharmacy, fast food and such Route 17 has all of that and more nearby. Service- Paul and Amy live on site and are very accommodating. If you have food allergies you can trust this place. Heck, they even offered to fill our flat tire for us. They take great care to make this place a wonderful stay.
