The Super 8 by Wyndham Williamsburg/Historic Area consistently receives negative feedback regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service. Recurring issues include mold, stains, pests (roaches and mice), stale rooms, and a lack of promised amenities like breakfast. While some guests appreciate its location and affordability, the overall experience is marred by significant problems and a general sense of neglect.

Upon arrival we found out from staff that our card had already been charged the day prior to check in when we requested to pay at check in. Then we entered our room to find floors not vacuumed, 2 shirts, a hair clip and a half empty soda on a table. Plus food left in the fridge. Little to no bath products. Then we went for breakfast in the morning. Advertised online and on a sign in the lobby, but were told they don't do breakfast only coffee and juice. Furthermore, housekeeping only removed trash and dirty towels. Beds were not made, floors not vacuumed (again), supplies not restocked (soaps, towels ect) There are obviously families who reside full time at this hotel, which is fine, but the yelling conversations between buildings and profanity being used is disruptive and rude. Overall very disappointed by the lack of customer service, cleanliness and policy procedures. Sadly, there was hardly even an apology for the messy room and lack of breakfast. The breakfast, location and pool were reasons we selected this hotel. At least the pool was clean.

The room smelled moldy and it was really dark. It is in a convenient location but there were people there that smoked pot on the stairs and I did not feel safe.. the whole motel could really use a renovation, everything felt really old and used…

Very helpful staff, but room was very much in need of renovation: *strong* mildew smell; bare drywall patch in bathroom; bathroom door frame looked like it had been saved by a dragon in places. Toilet basically right against the wall!?!?! Pretty good location. Only basic beverages on SM (tea bags, coffee machine, juice machine) but limited amounts- no regular coffee at all, very few cups. OK for a night.

Smelled like mildew. Requested a bottom floor when reserving due to my husband being handicaped but put on top floor. Told bottom was sold out. I reserved it 4 days prior. Mold in bathroom. Door does not seal, and people knocking on the door at 1am.

We booked through a third party site, that claimed this was a pet friendly hotel. THEY ARE NOT PET FRIENDLY. Expedia scammed us, This super 8 SCAMMED US. Even their website mentioned being pet friendly, when we arrived and saw the sign and asked to change our reservation he said everything must be handled through them if you booked with them. He seemed salty and mentioned he could’ve helped us had we booked directly with him. We contact expedia who swears they’re pet friendly and claims he called and talked to the manager on site. When we finally got out of the car to unload, he met us outside very ugly and telling us no pets none at all not even ESA. Went upstairs and locked us out of the rooms. I did go upstairs at one point while trying to figure this out to use the bathroom and there was burn marks in the blankets, batteries in the alarm clock thrown everywhere. The bath tub was filthy. I would never recommend staying here EVER. I have definitely stayed at some nice super 8s AND THIS ISNT ONE. We drove hours to get here and had to drive back home, without a refund .

DO NOT STAY HERE! We drove 6.5 hours with our 8 month old baby. After paying for hotel in full DAYS before they changed my reservation. The room we stayed in smelled like smoke, had 2 dead mice in their traps in the room and refused to move me after reporting the incident. They also let prostitutes stay there as well as let homeless people camp out on the benches outside the rooms. They also do not plug in their microwaves or refrigerator and I had no idea. I called and the lady at the desk lied to me multiple times.

Definitely a "budget" place to stay. We were able to stay in a smoking room, however there were burn hole in the blankets, a hole in the wall, rusty fixtures and the bathroom vent looked like it hadn't been clean in years. Room looked clean, but didn't feel clean and smelled bad. Not cigarette smoke bad, a different kind of bad.

I booked last minute, so options were limited, but this stay was disappointing. My “non?smoking” room smelled strongly of cigarettes and marijuana. The hotel has benches positioned directly outside the room windows, which seemed to encourage groups to gather. Our neighbors took full advantage—drinking and smoking outside our window until about 1 a.m., making it impossible to sleep. To top it off, there was no coffee available in the lobby at checkout. What I did find was an odd display: a stack of canned vegetables next to the microwave. I’ve attached a photo. Overall, not the experience I expected, even for a last-minute booking.
