My stay at Candlewood Suites Newport News/Yorktown by IHG exceeded my expectations. The hotel was very clean, peaceful, and perfect for a comfortable stay. I loved how spacious the room was, and having a full kitchenette made everything much more convenient, especially for a longer visit. The staff were friendly and accommodating, always greeting guests with a smile and making the check-in process quick and easy. The location was also a huge plus — close to restaurants, shopping areas, and other essentials without feeling too crowded or noisy. One thing I really appreciated was how relaxing the atmosphere felt after a long day. Everything was well-maintained, and the overall experience felt comfortable and stress-free. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reliable and cozy place to stay in the area.

Loved staying here! We were there for an extended stay and the staff was just amazing! Abby, Lea, and Azaria were always polite and friendly, quick to help and just really made us feel welcomed and at peace. The location is also amazing! So close to everything you could need even if you don’t have a car.

I also appreciated having a kitchenette, which made the stay even more convenient. The hotel itself was quiet, well-maintained, and located close to restaurants, shops, and the highway, making it easy to get around the area. Parking was simple, and the atmosphere felt safe and relaxing throughout my stay. What stood out the most was how comfortable and “home-like” the hotel felt. Whether you’re staying for a quick trip or a longer visit, this place is a great option. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Newport News/Yorktown area.

Had a great stay Candlewood Suites. The room was clean, comfortable, and had a full kitchen which made the trip much easier. Staff were friendly and the hotel was quiet and relaxing. Great value for the price and would definitely stay again.

Extremely disappointed with our stay. The room was absolutely nasty and felt unhygienic. Upon entering, there was a strong, moldy, and dusty odor that never went away. The carpets were visibly dirty; we saw the staff cleaning them in the hallway and they just spray a liquid without deep cleaning, which explains the smell. There was gum residue on the armchair, white stains on the couch, and the curtains looked like they hadn't been washed in years. We booked a business suite for the kitchen, but it was poorly equipped. There weren't enough utensils for even three people, no cutting board, dull knives, and no bowls—I had to toss a salad in a spaghetti pot. Service was almost non-existent. We weren't told that room service only happens once a week. We had to leave our own trash in the hallway and constantly go to the front desk to beg for basic supplies like trash bags and dishwasher tabs. Additionally, there are only two washers/dryers for the entire hotel, making it impossible to do laundry. The snack pantry was also a letdown; while they have a fridge for fresh food like sandwiches, it was completely empty. The only reason we didn’t leave was because we had already booked the extra room for our baby, but this was a "last resort" stay at best. I would never stay here again.

Really enjoyed our stay. The room was exceptional clean. We traveled with our two dogs this time and it was very accommodating for them as well. Would definitely stay again.

I enjoyed my time here and having a small kitchen with silverware,plates and cups in my hotel room was a lavish experience. I enjoyed my stay here. One thing I did not enjoy was the TV placement.

Absolutely wonderful stay! My room was comfortable and the kitchen was very useful. The location is perfect, and the staff are very nice. Highly recommend and would love to return!
