This poorly maintained hotel receives overwhelmingly negative reviews, with guests reporting severe cleanliness issues including cockroaches, rodent infestations, blood stains, and clutter. Communication with management is frequently described as rude or dismissive. Only a few recent stays note positivity for budget travelers.
We booked on Expedia to stay and paid extra to pay at motel rather than pay when we booked. It was $8 more for that option and it was fine because it gave us 3 weeks to make sure we got the deposit done for the trip. They immediately tried to bill my card three times in a row for the full amount even through our booking agreement was for pay at property. If I would have opted for the pay immediately, it would have been $47 but they billed me immediately for $56, the pay at property amount. My bank froze my card after the first attempt thank goodness and they canceled my card and sent me a new one because they suspected fraud. With now no card on file no other attempts were made until the day of. They tried to bill the cancelled card 4 hours before check in, again that’s not pay at property, and my bank called me and told me they were doing it again. I chatted with Expedia and told them I will not be staying, providing the details of my issues, and they agreed the stay should be cancelled. These people tried to bill me an amount they were not entitled to unless it was paid at property, they tried to bill me 4 times when they weren’t permitted to and, if it wasn’t for my stellar bank, would have cost me over $200 in attempts. After reading these other reviews, it looks like we dodged a bullet with canceling.
When I checked into my room there were mouse traps all over my room and a dead roach beside the mouse trap so I went to Expedia which is who I booked my room through and asked them for immediate refund and it was not available immediately so I asked for another room the day got mad because I went to Expedia and told them what was going on and said that I didn’t have to talk to Expedia about the issue and should have came straight to them and switched my room so I get in my new room and the tv wasn’t set up and ready which is no big issue but it is freezing outside and the heater is not working I told them it wasn’t working and they got mad and said they cannot keep switching my room that she will have him come and look at the tv and heater the guy comes he doesn’t barley understand English or speak it and so his so called fixing the heater is turning it off and turning it back on n telling me I have to wait 30 minutes for the whole room to heat so a hour goes by and the room is still not heated mind you I have a one year old who gets sick very easily so he catches an attitude and they finally switch our room again I checked out of the last room at 6 am the day of check out because my son woke up and was hungry I go to get his pamper changed before he eats AND THERE IS A ROACH IN MY SONS HAIR !!!!??? and two other roaches just crawling around I packed my things and left this is disgusting and unprofessional and I can’t even find the words to express how this was the worst experience I’ve had then I ask for sum type of partial refund and they offer me $11 I don’t even believe that I have to say anymore I would not choose this hotel again in a billion years if I were you I wouldn’t either!
The rooms were very outdated with peeling paint and a couple holes in the walls. We found roaches in the bathroom. Lots of noise and banging going on all night. Broken beer bottles in stairwells.Location is very close to anything you want to do in and around Williamsburg, however they are plenty of other hotels in the area. I would highly recommend looking into one of them and avoid this place completely
This hotel is disgusting. The bed cover had food stuck to it. The non-smoking bedroom had a cigarette burn on the comforter. There was a blood stain on the sheet. The refrigerator and microwave were sticky and dirty and the floor looked like it had not been cleaned since it was built. We were to stay two nights and we were so grossed out that we had a hard time staying one night. I would have felt better staying in my car that night, however, it was late and too cold. At least I got a refund for the night we didn't stay.
Owners wife is a bit rude but other than that its a great stay if you can get past the hoard of kids who roam unattended in the parking lot. I mean the oldest kid looks 6 and theyre just scattered all throughout the parking lot
They came right on time as the entire Williamsburg was sold out. Great customer service as I forgot something in the room. They retrieve it and kept it for me. Lifesaver as it was a very important item. ?
Wanted a hotel with a pool...had pool advertised but the pool was not available. Rooms were small but okay. Outside cleaniness could be a lot better.
The rooms aren’t fancy but for the price you should expect what you get. We had a great time here, if you want to visit VA on a budget this is a great option. We stayed a week, I have small children and we felt safe and really enjoyed or trip.
If I could choose zero stars, I would! I paid $68 for the room and it was worth a whole lot less than that. The room seemed old and stale, well the entire building does. There was a huge hole in the bathroom that was being hid by the bathroom door, also the tiles on the bathroom walls could use a good scrub. When my son and I checked in, we had to check in from the outside of a window. And we could see the lobby right in front of us as they kept the door locked. The WiFi was just as garbage as the room itself because that barely worked, on top of having spotty cell reception. Let me not forget the sides of the beds were dirty as well. At least the heat worked in the room and so did the tv. All in all, I don’t recommend. No, I will not tell a friend to stay here. I’d rather tell them not to.
First room reeked of cigarette smoke. Second room smelled of cigarette but less. Stairwell smelled of piss but was masked by more cigarette smoke. Requested a non smoking room, but clearly smoke was getting into the rooms. Stayed one night and now I have a sinus infection. Checked A/c unit, it was dirty and moldy. TV didn’t have a cable box. Fridge was unplugged. Overall disappointing but the office staff did try to make it right. Just smokers ruined my stay here. Going to spend the extra money to stay somewhere else.
