This motel has received mixed reviews with a heavy emphasis on cleanliness and maintenance issues. Recent guests warn of significant health hazards, including bed bugs and syringes found in rooms, alongside complaints about dirty linens and poor building upkeep.
This place was absolutely horrible when I was showering and grab one of the towels there was a syringe in it and fell to the ground after confronting the manager they said it wasn’t in there policy to fix this and were arguing and swearing at me blaming my wife on her using it which she is pregnant and had my daughter there as well I do not recommend you stay here horrible service and a horrible staff there as well
I stayed in Room 221 for 3 nights. I got fooled by the good reviews on Hotels.com and on Google Maps. This is an old, run down motel with sad looking people staying here. It looked nothing like the photos. I even upgraded to a slightly more expensive room. The AC unit is really loud. The bed was super hard. The pool had the tarp still on. The problem was the long-term/Section 8/Government Assistance “thugs” staying in the room to the right of me [I assume it was Room 220]. These people liked to listen to hip-hop and play video games LOUDLY - ALL, NIGHT, LONG, UNTIL THE SUN CAME UP. I don’t khow many of them were in the room and if any of them have jobs, they just sleep in the day and party all night. I didn’t contact the management because the office was closed all the time, it might have turned dangerous, and I was exhausted each night coming back to the motel from biking 110 miles in 3 days on the Virginia Capital Trail. Bottom Line, spend a little bit of extra money and stay somewhere else.
Great place to visit with family. Has a nice, clean outdoor pool and employees were so nice. We were nearly 45 minutes late to check out and they had no problem, they just let us know politely. We got a 2 bed room and it was only about 90 bucks. Thats great pricing. Visit this place for sure
This establishment should be closed. We were passing through this area for a family road trip and stayed overnight last weekend. When we arrived there on Friday it was a-lot of commotion with 2 people arguing, should’ve been a red flag but proceeded as we were heading out early the next morning and just finished an 4 hour car ride. My family and I stayed in rooms (202 and 203). When we got into the rooms someone’s clothes were hanging in one of the closets. This should have been the 2nd red flag but proceeded as we weren’t staying long. Got in the bed 2 hours later and woke up the next morning with huge bumps on my legs, left side of my neck to my shoulder, and entire left arm. This prompted me to go to the local Walmart to get some allergy medicine and cream to soothe things before going to the doctors or going back home. At this point they looked like swollen mosquito bites and looked like an allergic reaction to something. I left this establishment Saturday morning as I felt something was tearing me up in these rooms. Moved to Blue Green Vacations Resort 5 mins away. Fast forward to Sunday while heading home all of the bites were more swollen with pus & black dots at the head of the boils with weird rash patterns. Got home Sunday and went straight to my local urgent care to find out not only did I get bit up all over, but they were bed bug bites. Myself and my father in law were the only ones that had a huge reactions while others in the group had minor bites. I then called the facility to notify the owners that this is not ok and that we would like to be contacted immediately. Not one word from anyone at this establishment after several attempts. This was our first time staying a a motel and I will say never again will we make that mistake. Plan out your routes to prevent settling for any place while on the road without proper research. Health dept audits are important to prevent things like this from happening. We didn’t want to bring any of this home so I advised my entire group (7 of us) to throw all clothing items alone and anything cloth to ensure we’re not bringing anything back home. Such a horrible experience, AVOID this place at all cost. My lawyer has reached out as I plan to proceed civilly.
Our family of 3 stayed for 2 nights. Staff and owners were friendly and everything was very clean and well stocked. We made the most of the pool and enjoyed two nights of swimming. Pool was well maintained and lights worked for night swimming. AC was fantastic, tv worked great, and mini fridge was clean and worked well. Definitely recommend this place and will be coming back ourselves.
Got an okay deal when I booked it for the weekend. The area is quiet. Here is the negative, I arrived to my room, with a refrigerator as soon as you open the door. The door itself does not open and close flawlessly. The chain lock that was apparently there before, had been ripped off. There is a second refrigerator that serves no purpose because it isn't plugged in and when opened, smelled like dead fish. The microwave has rust on the top and inside of the door. Opening the closet door, there's a hole next to the crawl space entry point. Also the electrical panel inside the closet is not to code and should not be behind closed doors. Entry into the bathroom, I nearly broke my toe due to the step up that has no notification that there's a step hazard. The ceiling fan hasn't been cleaned for years, mold on the shower curtain. There was also only one bath towel that smelled like urine. Im glad i bought my own. Looking at the ceiling there's been some damage and the repair job must've been done by a blind person. Finally, the wall light has been patched with wire nuts which in itself is also a hazard. Do not recommend this place to my worst enemy...Sorry but not sorry.
This is an old motel but the upkeep is great. We stayed there for four days. The pool is very nice and the price for the rooms are great. Very convenient to all of Williamsburg and two miles from Busch Gardens. The family running the property couldn’t be any nicer. We will continue to stay there when ever we visit again.
Best feature- Good value- This hotel was the cheapest (considering review score) by far. Great features- furniture is in good condition convenient layout- all rooms are on the first floor and have front door access just feet from parking spots. clean hot water works bug free staff were polite and efficient worst features- a little outdated bed not the comfiest wifi not always connected Overall- I would definitely stay here again.
