We recently stayed at American Heritage RV Park while visiting Colonial Williamsburg. Pros: • Pull-through site made parking our camper much easier. • Full hookups (water, electric, and sewer) were convenient. • Free Wi-Fi was available at our site and worked reasonably well during our stay. • The playground was a big hit with our children and gave them something to do during downtime. Things to be aware of: • The road leading to the campground is very narrow and ends in a dead end. There are warning signs, but RVers should pay close attention because there is limited room to turn around if you miss the entrance. • The campground charges per person, including our two-year-old. We were surprised by this because many campgrounds either charge by site or do not charge for toddlers. • One evening, we returned early from sightseeing because our son wanted to play mini golf. The office/store was closed, which meant we could not access the mini golf equipment. At the time, we could not find posted office/store hours. After I contacted management, store hours were posted. • The pool was closed during our stay. • Several arcade games were unavailable when we visited the game room, including racing games displaying "Please call an attendant" messages. After speaking with management, I was informed that the pool closure was due to a broken pump and that the arcade games should have been operating. I understand that maintenance issues can happen. However, families planning to use the amenities may want to confirm their availability during their stay. Overall, the campsite itself met our needs, but our experience with the amenities was mixed.

The RV park was very clean, and we loved all of the shade trees. Pool was also very nice. The mini golf course could use some sprucing up..it was a bit run down looking. We would definitely recommend this place. We would also happily stay there again!

Very clean family park with above average sites. All sites are concrete pads and all grass. No dirt! Quiet. No rowdyness. Very close to all attractions. Much to see in the area. We were so happy we added on 2 extra days. Everything is extremely dog friendly. Our dog had the best vacation ever. And the cost was very reasonable while filling 10 days of stuff to do.

After staying here a little over a week, my impression of this place is that the cost per night for this cabin was way too high. We paid a little over $1200 for 9 nights. I guess I don't know what I was thinking but it was much smaller than what I thought it was going to be. There is absolutely no place to put your clothes. There is a queen bed and a set of bunk beds and if you're staying here with kids, you're gonna have to leave your clothes in the car because while you can store some things under the bunk bed, you can't put anything under the queen bed. The amount of floor space between the two beds is miniscule. Our bathroom faucet did not work on cold at all.If you turned it to cold, no water came out. This was the only sink to get any water. And in order to get hot enough water to shower, it had to be turned up on hot all the way. These are two things that really should have been checked out by management prior to our arrival. I did let the desk know that but declined to have maintenance look at it because our things were all over the cabin and our little dog was there while we were gone. For the positives, it was very quiet and the bed was very comfortable. While we did make it work, it was not worth $120 per night. Would not stay again.

We stayed at American Heritage RV Park this past weekend and had a great experience overall. The location is hard to beat—being so close to Busch Gardens Williamsburg made getting back and forth super easy. The sites were concrete, level, and well kept, and the bathrooms were very clean and nice. I do wish there was more than one bathhouse, as there’s only one in the middle, but it wasn’t a terrible walk—just something to keep in mind. My daughter especially loved the nature trail, which was a nice bonus and gave us something relaxing to do at the campground. My only complaint: while we were at Busch Gardens, we received a text that the water had to be turned off for a repair. Totally understandable—things happen. However, I do wish there had been a follow-up text letting us know when it was back on. When we got back, all I wanted was a shower, and it would’ve been nice not to wonder if the water was working or not. Small detail, but a little stressful at the time. Overall, this is a very nice, clean, and well-located campground for anything in Williamsburg. We would definitely stay here again.

Great RV park. Grounds were clean and well maintained. Nice walking trail and kids playground. Cabins were also clean and well maintained. The RV sites were spacious and had nice concrete pads.

Very nice campground! Nice sites. Well maintained. Not our first visit and won’t be our last. Only complaint is that there was a lot of dog poop; in the grass on our site in multiple areas, the grass along the road, the grassy field by the playground and around/in the dog park. I know that’s the dog owners not the campground but was a little frustrating when my child stepped in it and they couldn’t enjoy the nice site we had.

Where can I start?! First of all, the campground has a very well-maintained facility including level, concrete pad campsites and a wonderful shower house/restroom facility that is regularly maintained. There is a dog park, laundry, an arcade, and a nice pool facility. Roads are good and signage is easy to see. Full service hookups to include WiFi, cable, water, and sewer. Recycling and trash disposal is easy access to campsites. Visitor parking is across the road from the campsites. The camp store is well-stocked and staff are super friendly. Miniature golf is available on the property. Propane refill is available from the camp store. Let’s just say they have it all. This is one of the highest-rated campgrounds on the Good Sam Club app - they are maintaining that high standard every single day. One of our top five campgrounds we have ever been to since beginning our camper journey in 2013. We will be back and hope for it to be often! Note: Close to local attractions such as Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, Yorktown, Jamestown Settlement, and many other local attractions. Be sure to eat at Captain George’s and get your seafood fill.

We visited Busch Gardens Christmas Town and took our camper for a mini vacation. This park is conveniently located to the park. The sites are roomy with all pull throughs. The camp store has lots to offer. We were gone from the site during the day but at night it was quiet and nice. We had a fire on Friday night. I can’t speak of the bathhouse because we use ours but we did wash a load of clothes and the laundry room was nice. They have laundry soap for sale in the office if you forget to bring it. I’d go back to this park again.

We had a wonderful experience at the park. We (1 adult 2 kids and 1 dog) booked and lived in a med-size cabin. It looks small from the outside, but insider you find a small fridge, a microwave, drip coffee machine, a queen size bed and a bunk bed. All these are well positioned so that the room is reasonably spacious for 3 people to stay. That said, if a second adult joins, it could feel crowded. There are places to store out luggages too, under the bunk bed and between the bed and the wall. The covered porch facing the wood is big for additional luggages and used towels. The AC is a bit noisy but the heater is quiet. Moreover, for a small cabin the bathroom is spacious, big enough for a big adult to turn around and use all facilities without feeling restricted. The cabin was super clean when we arrived, no funny smell either. The mattresses and pillows are okay, decent for a cabin at campsite. The porch has a 120v power outlet that we used to charge our Tesla. The natural trail around the park is a nice place to hang out with the dog and morning walk. Lots of trees, leave, and a clean stream. WIFI is just so so, acceptable for vacation but not great for working. Front desk was always busy with phone calls.
