This Red Roof Inn is currently unsafe and uninhabitable according to recent guests, with multiple reports of sewage backups, black mold, and vermin infestations. While some past guests appreciated the pet-friendly environment and quiet location near Busch Gardens, the property's management appears unresponsive to maintenance and health/safety complaints.
Had to move in after a fire. Toilet explodes raw sewage its been weeks and they refuse to fix it, kids are sick, rooms haven't been changed. Had to cll the health department they then lied and told the tech they would fix it today hasn't happened. I guess next step is legal aid and wavy 10. Please beware of these slumlords
Front desk clerk was absolutely insufferable and rude. I told her we had 2 couples and 2 children. She allowed us to check in and ran my credit card, let us go to our room, then waited outside for us to start unloading our car (in the cold, with two small kids) to march down with a smirk and inform us we were over fire code and had to vacate. If handled properly, it would have been a completely understandable mistake, but seems like she was competing for a prize in the self-righteousness contest that no one told her didn’t exist.
We just rescued a pooch and saw that this hotel has no pet fee. So we jumped on it. And the price was great. Well, our new dog that has anxiety, and after being walked for almost an hour, went into the room and peed on the bed. We asked for new bedding and Jennifer was so amazing. She was super understanding and said these things happen. She couldn't have been more kind. I would stay here again for the no pet fee, location, great price, and because Jennifer was so amazing. More places need employees like her!
Took my son on a little history tour. He loves history and we needed to do this on a limited budget. Booked a room, didn’t check in until late. HAIR in the BED and MOLD… not just a little bit, I’m seriously allergic and started having an asthma attack. I grew up riding horses.. I’m not a prude… this was BAD!! They REFUSE to refund my money!!!!!! I’ve never had an issue with Red Roof…. They NEVER get my reservation again.
I recently booked this online through hotels.com. I’m not your typical traveler, so I don’t stay in hotels on a consistent basis. But the entire process was a mess. We had 4 guests, 2 rooms. The first 2 guests were able to check in. Then myself and the other guests showed up. We check in and we are told that a balance was left over. I was confused on why. More to come on that. We check in, and go to our rooms. The next day, we take showers, unfortunately the showers aren’t the best because water will come out of the tub and on the floor. We don’t have enough of towels. The bathroom door doesn’t shut all the way. Between the door and shower, the bathroom was a bust. Oh and the handle for the toilet wasn’t working well either. The ironing board needs to be replaced since it’s torn up. Then the floors itself are disgusting in itself. You wear white socks, and they are filthy. The floors aren’t cleaned at all! I check out, and when I get home. I see I was charged 4x as split payments. If my total is $525, I was charged $131.25, 4 different times. According to the establishment, this is the process. Absolutely under herd of! I filed a complaint with red roof in because I couldn’t believe what happened. Alls I got was an apology email. Preferably, I would like I refund considering that this could’ve been a lot worse of a situation. How does a hotel manage to be ran when you have all of this going on? Red roof inn needs to do better. The one near me is way cleaner then this one. Never again will I stay at this establishment.
Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Two issues were the website says there's a pool however it has not been in use since COVID. Also ice machine was not in use. Overall nice experience and would book there again.
my boyfriend and i stayed at this hotel for busch gardens & water country. it was honestly pretty decent for how much I paid. upon walking in tho it was a little dirty (esp in the bathroom and sink) so we had to use our own Clorox wipes and it smelled like smoke. There was also an old blood stain on the blanket— I didn’t notice until the last night :/. otherwise the bed was comfy and the AC was good. the breakfast consisted of muffins, bread, waffles, yogurt, cereal, and fruit. it was pretty nice. The general area is also near a lot of food places and grocery stores as well (everything was less than 10-15 mins away). overall I would recommend if you’re on a budget and need a hotel near the parks!
If you need a pool, spa, full breakfast bar and all the amenities, then stay at a Hilton and pay $200 a night. If you want a clean spacious room, comfortable bed and friendly staff, then save yourself $125 a night and stay here. The breakfast set up was a nice treat with cereals, toast, bagels, fruit and beverages. If I am passing through Williamsburg again and need a place to stay for the night, I will come back here. If you are lucky you will be greeted by the nicest, most courteous person at checkout, like I was. Thanks Chris , you were a delight!!!!
This place was terrible, my girls experienced harassment by others. I told the office they said nothing. I did not stay they was not tryna give me my money. They had a dead bugs hanging from the ceiling, the floor is very slippery, even from the poor Ventilation circulation in the room .,Even had. roaches Crawling the place was disgusting. We even received dirty towels that appeared to be clean. The ventilation system is bad. I had roof I have pic. The water was even backed up from the tub. The place was a mess and so was the service from the front desk. Very displeasing and distasteful. I will never come back. The place next door was way better. Mainstay suites.
I have to share this experience because it was the weirdest stay I have ever had at a hotel. The staff were friendly, I had no complaints there. So, 5:30 AM on a Sunday. We hear loud bangs on our door, and the room my wife and friend were staying in. Weird, we go back to sleep. Then again, followed by the phone ringing. We answer the phone to someone creepily saying Hi, giggling and making loud breathing sounds. Very unsettling. The banging happened a couple more times. I locked the latch and left the phone off the ringer. My wife and friend had a similar experience. I will never go back again and risk something happening to me. In hindsight I should have called the front desk but we were disoriented from staying in Busch Gardens all day and just wanted to sleep. The front staff were even weirded out by this story. My next stop is corporate. I forgot to add how dirty the rooms were too. Very bad.
