Wingate by Wyndham Williamsburg receives mixed reviews, with some guests praising its convenient location and comfortable rooms, while others highlight concerns about noise levels, train traffic, and aging facilities. Cleanliness and staff friendliness are generally positive, but issues with bathroom conditions and amenities like the indoor pool being closed in winter are recurring complaints.
Nothing that stands out about this place. Everything was average or below. Staff was not friendly they were almost rude to a point. The shower curtain was stained. Tub was very slippery we asked for a mat to put inside tub they do not have any those. Every night there were at least one to two bus loads of teens to young adults that were uncontrolled. Running up and down the halls yelling, talking loudly well after midnight. Would like to have had juice or coffee but with so many kids around you couldn’t even get close. Probably only positive thing about this hotel was its location. We won’t be staying there again.
We recently stayed in room 219 for two nights. The room was clean and a good price. The bed was comfortable and the location is good. Unfortunately the bathroom was old, had hair on the floor and the the shower water was barely warm to say the least. It is in front of train tracks and trains come by fairly often and wake you up at 3:30 in the morning. We probably will not return.
The hotel could have better food options. I would include boiled eggs for people that dont eat scrambled eggs and also offer another option such as oatmeal or grits. The rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable, ans the staff was great! The amenities wrre great and the indoor pool is a great option especially in the winter. Overall, my hotel stay was wonderful and I will stay here again.
My stay at the Wingate by Wyndham was a very pleasant experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming, professional, and willing to help with anything I needed. The check-in process was quick and smooth, which made settling in very easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. The bed and pillows were especially comfortable, making it easy to get a good night's rest. I also appreciated the quiet atmosphere of the hotel. One of the highlights of the stay was the complimentary breakfast, which offered a nice variety of options to start the day. The location was also convenient, with restaurants and stores nearby. Overall, I had a positive experience and would definitely consider staying at Wingate by Wyndham again in the future. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and everything felt well maintained. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. The location was convenient for getting around, and we really appreciated the quiet, relaxing atmosphere after long days out. Breakfast offered plenty of choice and was fresh and tasty. Overall, this was a very pleasant experience and we would happily stay here again and recommend it to others. Maite was such a sweet host and helped us get situated in a timely manner.
Had exec accessible king room, great location. No walk-in shower, had bath tub! Room looks great, very comfy bed. Fridge had no freezer (for ice packs-insulin cold storage). Lighting in Room very poor: can't reach bedside lights from the bed, desk & chair with no light, 2 pinhole lights high up on a useless wall panel. Only 1 day's coffee etc. provided. Room phone didn't work. Breakfast skimpy, in half hour there no refreshes. Maid did refresh a few items in bathroom (wash cloths, hand towels), made bed, emptied trash, respectful of personal items. But no coffee after 1st day. Room 102 great location--but whoever designed "accessible" room, has never needed any accessibility.
The hotel overall is nice. Lobby is clean, staff is helpful, drinks to purchase are well priced. The complimentary breakfast isn't large or has much of a variety. Plan to eat breakfast out if you have a large group or picky eaters. The rooms were nice enough, small, but fine. Bed was comfortable, sheets were thin and not comfortable or warm at all. Unfortunately at night, and the bathroom, is when things went down hill... The hotel is next to the train tracks which we heard and woke up to several times at night. The shower consistently dripped ALL NIGHT and the water takes about 15min-20min to heat up. I have never experienced this in a hotel but was told "it's because the hotel is busy". The walls/ceiling are thin. I would stay here again if it's just me but I wouldn't book this hotel again as a family. Unfortunately the evening noises really affected our day time trips around Williamsburg ? We were exhausted! It would be nice if some of the payment was comped, especially because of the bathroom alone - it was terrible.
Stayed two nights on the first floor and housekeeping never came to the room. We literally ran out of toilet paper. However, the front desk was great and even got us another pillow when we asked. Breakfast was okay - standard for hotels, and the coffee machine was an added bonus for me. Bed was comfy, shower was fine. It says there’s a policy for no noise after 10 pm, but children were running and stomping from 10-midnight (blame the parents) above us and nobody enforced the policy. Note - indoor pool is closed in winter, and a train runs at various times right next door. I
From the moment we arrived at the hotel, the experience was impeccable. The check-in process was fast and the staff extremely friendly and professional. The room was perfectly clean, with a very comfortable bed, good lighting and details that showed attention to the guest, such as quality amenities and a quiet atmosphere. The hotel facilities exceeded my expectations: the pool was clean and well maintained, the gym had good equipment and the common area always looked organized. The breakfast was varied and delicious; definitely a highlight of the stay. Something that really impressed me was the quality of the service. Every employee we interacted with was helpful, attentive and willing to help at any time. It is noticeable that the hotel prioritizes the guest experience. The location is also excellent, close to everything you need but quiet enough to rest without noise. In summary, my stay was excellent from start to finish. I recommend this hotel 100% and I will definitely return on my next visit.
The owners of this hotel or the management are doing an excellent job. I have no complaints. The only issue I found was a lack of adequate handicap spaces but other than that, it’s been a great experience. The beds were very comfortable. We need extra pillows and extra towels they were very accommodating whenever we have request. They were accommodating and very kind. I was very happy to have chosen this hotel for our weeklong. Stay in Williamsburg. I will definitely stay here again if you’re looking for a good hotel in the area, this is your best bet.
